WIld!

Great news, for me at least. My favourite children’s book Where the Wild Thing Are (because it looks so dope) is being made into a film by Spike Jonze. The monsters will be played by actors in 6-8 foot tall costumes (made by the Jim Henson company), with computer animated faces. The pics look gnarly.

Pretty cool

A pretty cool interview with illustrator Kustaa Saksi (pretty cool name), who makes pretty cool work and seems to be a pretty cool guy. The interview is for Submarine Channel’s Pretty Cool People Interviews.

something

“A series of art-based workshops taught by world renowned influencers of DIY culture. Produced in conjunction with the theatrical release of the acclaimed documentary.”
Cool stuff by Nike and Beatiful Losers, but what’s DIY about having a sponsor like Nike?

giant remote

I was looking for images of a remote control via Google (research for a project) and stumbled upon this big one. Never loose your remote again and a perfect tool for your grandparents.

We at 7U

love movies. So we combined our strengts and cutted al our favorite, funiest, lamest and most beautiful movie scenes and let our random movie selector do its job. No need anymore to flip trough all the TV channels and watch the same boring stuff as last year. Go to the 7U site and enjoy being as lazy as we are!

Japanese scientists have a nice breakthrough. Some heavy stuff if you ask me.It’s now possible to create images from your brain activity. The next step is ‘a videotape of your dream’…Thanks for mentioning Tom.

supersilo

All new work by Martijn van Dam on the Behance network, like the brilliant Spektrum XL, Machtig and Chameleon flyers. Don’t forget to click the blue star at the bottom of a project to appreciate that specific design. He thanks you in advance!

Words of wisdom

St.Lukes set up this nice daily inbox-inspiration for the working mornings. Simple, goodlooking type and great quotes to print. Their client; the enigmatic “School of Life” (stigma-free psychotherapy and secular sermons anyone?).

The best old news of last year: Mr. Wix, Jim Aasgier, Leroy Rey, Superdeboer, Global Mischa, The Please, Eelco Couvreur. That’s your New Year’s Eve at the Bitterzoet in Amsterdam if it’s up to Habbekrats. Don’t question it. Just get yourself that ticket.
